PRNC's Hazel Nicholls wins Sheelagh Redpath Grassroots Official Award at 2019 Goalden Globes

Each year, netball players across the country are asked to nominate and vote for individuals who go the extra mile for their sport.

Nominations were soon announced and we couldn't have been prouder to have Hazel recognised for all her hardwork in mentoring upcoming umpires within our club. The final regional choice came between our very own Hazel and Yeovil NC's Sarah Lewis. And the winner was... Hazel!!

After winning at a regional level, Hazel went through to the national awards being held in Liverpool. The awards were to herald the beginning of the 2019 Netball World Cup.

At a spectacular venue, filled with netball greats, the time had come to announce the winner of the Sheelagh Redpath Grassroots Official Award. And all we can say is...

Hazel only went and won it!

Hazel gives so much time to umpiring and mentoring with club and county and her feedback is always useful. Her ability to motivate and to inspire individuals has seen more girls picking up a whistle and her husband to become her own personal scorer. Her commitment to her development has continued with her passing her B Award Written in December.

We are so lucky to have Hazel and can only thank her for all of her time, passion and dedication for both our club and netball and the sport as a whole.
